Husband Wants to Save His Marriage

I will answer your question by posting an article called “A Husband has 1 of 3 Choices”.
In our Audio Cd Series, How to Break the Cycle of Resentment and Anger in a Marriage, I liken a man in a marriage to a gardener and his wife to a garden. In a troubled marriage, a husband has one of three choices:
1. He can feed and water his garden:
In many cases, when a husband fails to feed and water his garden (his wife), weeds of negativity, coldness, and anger often start to grow. A wise husband realizes that standing around and pointing fingers at the weeds does little to eradicate the problem of weeds in his garden.
2. He can complain about the weeds in his garden:
You can stand around and complain about the weeds in your garden, but what does that accomplish? A wise husband realizes that if he wants to be able to walk through his garden and enjoy the beauty that he expects, he will need to take an alternate route. He must understand that when he exchanged marriage vows, he did not say, “As long as my garden looks beautiful, I will take care of it.”. No, whether he realized it or not, when he said the phrase “for better or for worse”, he was actually saying, “Even though my garden will, at times, lack the beauty that I desire, I will continue to feed and water my garden with love.”.
3. He can find another garden:
The garden down the street that seems as if it will be far less work to maintain often takes even more work than you realize.
Once again, a man in a troubled marriage has one of three choices. The question is which one will you choose?
